Tomb of Rooms: Runes/Marks
« on: July 29, 2014, 09:11:28 PM »
After toying around with the game, I accidentally summoned a demon.

That was my first introduction to the wonderful (and very painful) world of runes!

The (simple) definition of Runes is:

"A mark or letter of mysterious or magic significance."

There, that's out of the way, so now onward to Tomb of Rooms runes!
From what I've discovered, there are (currently) two runes in ToR,

-Demon Circle: Summons grunt, fun prank to pull on unwary friends (especially when dead)

-Squiggle: Honestly no clue, I suck at drawing runes and made this. It glowed and then I died by an Ent/Tree Guy/Stalking Nightmare before I could see what it did. Was simmilar to the Marking book.

I'm here to tell you how to summon demons from the grave.
(See attachment 1 for rune example)

=========================================================================================

Now you've probably seen it before in the books, but turns out you can draw it! It's a simple three step program;

Step 1: Draw a counter-clockwise circle, about 1.5 the size of your torso (this is to make it easier, not necessary). Do NOT stop drawing throughout all of this, it WILL break the rune.

Step 2: Draw a perfect diamond from the top of the circle inwards WHILE NOT LETTING GO.

Step 3: Finish it, and then if it worked it should catch on fire.

Bonus Step 4: Draw it from the grave. Yes, this works, and it's the best thing ever to overwhelm your traitorous teammate.

Good luck, and have fun!

P.S., if anyone knows any other runes/mark, feel free to add them.

HAhahhaaa, those laser eyes are amazing!  There is a simple spell (much simpler than the demon spell) which I guess you accidentally drew in the "laser squiggles".  Good jerb!

Haha. The painting graffiti is like my thing. I have SO MANY screenshots of it. XD. OH YEAH. The new rune is really difficlult to draw. I know the updat was just released like three months ago but I dont even know what it does nonetheless how to draw it well. (Im talking about the one in the book that was previously undrawable.)

I wanted to show that drawing circles or just chalking over the same line again makes the line glow yellow/golden, but this time it was blue. It was not because of the background light I also did this on a different wall.

I  am wrong, I played three player coop so there was light around most of the time. The blue light was because it was in the first room and the more chalk you use the more light it reflects, although I don't think it supposed to do it that much.

The blue light was in the first room this time, because of the "outside light". I think I just confused it as a blue light in the second room..

golden light is there because it reflects even tiny bits of light.

Bzukbo's letsplay showed me how to draw this. i always drew it far too big in when I was trying to copy the bookpage.

Also, the light seems to have a max range from the spot where the light starts glowing. You can continue drawing with a shining chalk line

if you draw a light rune and continue and then draw one again with the same line (no stopping) you can increase the length of the lights reach.
